Digital Accessibility Essentials for Educators

Dr. Rob Power (Power Learning Solutions) and Bradley Sheppard (Sheppard Diversity) recently joined forces for a live webinar and access to a month-long support network on mastering the essentials of making your resources as accessible as possible for your students. This event was a charity fundraiser, with all proceeds going to support the Jesse's Journey 2021 Virtual Walk to Defeat Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

About the Webinar

Help us to Defeat Duchenne and learn how to make your digital teaching resources as accessible as possible for your students. Join us for a 45-minute webinar moderated by Bradley Sheppard of Sheppard Diversity, and presented by Dr. Rob Power of Power Learning Solutions. We'll be covering simple things that all teachers can do to increase the digital accessibility compliance of resources we create and share with our students every day, including working with:
  • Word documents and PDF files
  • Images
  • PowerPoint presentations
  • Colour
  • Web-based content (web pages and course / learning management systems)

Bradley Sheppard
Bradley Sheppard is president of Sheppard Diversity Training. He has spent nearly 20 years helping people across multiple sectors.  He has spent the last 10 years learning and teaching on issues such as equity, inclusion, race, class, privilege, unconscious bias, systemic awareness to name a few. ​

Rob Power
Dr. Rob Power is an Assistant Professor of Education with Cape Breton University, Past-President of the International Association for Mobile Learning, and President of Power Learning Solutions. With over two decades of experience in the education sector, he specializes in instructional design for online and digital learning, and educational technology integration.
